The Ins-and-Outs of simple CMS's

While there are plenty of open source CMS's out there, it would take me, a 45yo guy, some time to break it down and disseminate the finer points of each CMS. Most of them have lots of very useful and practical applications or plug-ins. But like I have said, it would take me some time to take it all in. At any rate, doing design for clients has led me to create (and still improving on) my own CMS. Basically and from a non-computer science point of view. The basic features that my CMS would offer are: 1) Posting - a place to create your web pages on the fly. 2) Albums - a place to upload your pictures and create albums. 3) Calendar - a basic calendar to inform your viewers of events or happenings. and of course, last but not the least, 4) Dashboard - to update your contact information and change your password. With these basic features, should a client seek to add a shopping cart or some other feature, development time for me should already be cut in half. And I can already show clients some development on the side.

I decided to develop my own since I also do back-end programming for clients and this would cut development time and let me concentrate on the add-ons.
